The designers behind LumoKids Furniture went through a similar process and decided that something more creative was needed, especially when it came to children’s furniture. Their brand embodies the youthful spirit of this group of Finnish designers who are clearly idealistic and willing to change the way we decorate our homes.
As with many of the brands we like to share on the site, the principles on which LumoKids Furniture is based have been actively eliminated in our current industrial model of mass production. All of LumoKids’ wooden pieces are made of birch plywood, while its upholstery is made entirely of cotton. The result is a product that is non-toxic, long-lasting, and easily recyclable. In addition, the designer’s background and passion for art and design are clearly visible in his modern and elegant lines and the functionality of each piece. A real Scandinavian gem!
In addition to the practical and value aspects, LumoKids definitely appeals to the most remarkable trait of children: their imagination and creativity. Designed for and inspired by children, these products take the needs of children as the most important guideline. For example, the stylish Korento bed (pictured above) has a low height and is equipped with a side bar designed to help our little ones feel comfortable and safe.
The Ketara bed is a little gem! You can adjust it to your child’s age, size, and interests. Ketara grows with your child, from toddler to teen. You can use it as a 160 cm long version of the toddler’s four-poster bed. Then, when the child grows up, the family can turn the bed over and transform it into a loft bed (under which the child can be their own hiding place or used as storage) or a bunk bed (if siblings sleep under the same room). After that, with the help of longer side bars, you can extend the bed up to 200 cm.
Once again, versatility is an important part of the bed collection, as most products can be rearranged and turned into single beds, bunk beds, or beds for older children. They also always offer ample storage options! In addition, one of our favorite aspects is the simple and fresh color scheme, which makes the design stand out and also offers us countless options for accessories. We have been thinking about so many rooms and these gorgeous beds are perfect for them!
We think the Sieni stool is definitely the highlight of their current collection and a visual treat for anyone who loves playful design! When decorating for children, it can be a challenge to strike a tasteful balance between fun and appeal to the little ones, while at the same time meeting our décor standards. Sieni is sure to make both sides very happy, and we can’t take our eyes off them!
